Open in App
Solution

We have:
3+13-1

Now, rationalising the denominator of the given number by multiplying both the numerator and denominator with 3+1, we get:
3+13-1=3+13-1×3+13+1=3+1232-12=3+1+233-1=4+232=22+32= 2+3
2+3= a + b3
So, on comparing the LHS and the RHS, we get:
a = 2 and b = 1
