Find the volume and surface area of a pyramid with height 3√2 cm and a square base with sides all 6 cm in length [4 MARKS]
Concept: 1 Mark
Application: 3 Marks
Volume =13×area of base×h
=13×(6×6)×3√2
=36√2 cm3
=50.91 cm3
Surface Area = area of square + area of 4 triangles
We need slant height AC
AC2=32+(3√2)2 (By Pythagoras)
AC2=27
AC=√27
∴SA=area of square+area of 4 triangles=6×6+4(12×6×√27)
=98.35cm2
