Given outer length =30 cm
Outer breadth =20 cm
Outer height =80 cm
Outer volume = length × breadth × height
=30×20×80=48000cm3
Thickness of wooden box, w=1 cm
Inner length =l2w=302=28 cm
Inner breadth =b2w=202=18 cm
Inner height =h2w=802=78 cm
Inner volume =28×18×78=39,312cm3
Volume of wood used = outer volume inner volume
=4800039,312=8,688cm3
