Open in App
Solution

Given A(4,2,3)B(3,1,8)C(x,1,2)
is right angled at -A so BC2=AB2+AC2
AB2=(x2x1)2+(y2y1)2+(z2z1)2=(34)2+(12)2+)(83)2
AB2=1+1+25AB2=27
BC2=(x3)2+(11)2+(28)2=(x3)2+4+36=(x3)2+40
AC2=(x4)2+(12)2+(23)2=(x4)2+9+1=(x4)2+10.
BC2=AB2+AC2
(x3)2+40=27+(x4)2+10
x2+96x+40=37+x2+168x
6x+49+8x53=0
2x4=0
x=2
