Question

First equation of motion - what is 'v'

Second equation of motion - what is 's'

Third equation of motion - what is 's'

Open in App
Solution

--:First equation of motion
v = u + at
where,

v = final velocity

--:Second equation of motion:
S equals u t plus 1 half a t squared
where S is distance travelled by the body.

--:Third equation of motion:
2 a S equals v squared minus u squared

where S is the distance travelled by the body.

Note:
there is no rule to use which equation to use. But by looking at the quantity we have to find and the quantities which are known, we are using suitable equations.
Eg: if time is not given and we need to find distance , then we use third equation.

According to the situation we are choosing which equation to be used.
