As, the given case is of Wheatstone bridge, so equivalent resistance is given by
$R_{eq}=\frac{(R_1+R_2)(R_4+R_3)}{(R_1+R_2)+(R_3+R_3)}$

The equivalent resistance between point $A$ and $C$

$R_{eq}=\frac{(4+6)(8+12)}{(4+6)+(8+12)}$

$=\frac{10\times 20}{10+20}=\frac{10\times 20}{30}=\frac{20}{3}\Omega$
