The correct option is D Both H3O+ and OH ions are present in small but equal concentration.
In a neutral medium , [H+]=[OH]=1×107molL1 at 298K.
In water medium actually H+ combines with H2O and exists as H3O+.
Hence both H3O+ and OH are present in equal amount but as in 1 liter of solution only 1×107 mol of H3O+ and OHare present, so their amount is very small.
Therefore option (d) is only correct and others are incorrect.
