Qutubuddin Aibak was a Turkish general of Muhammad Ghori, who became an independent ruler and the founder of Delhi Sultanate after the death of Muhammad Ghori. He has ruled for a brief period of four years, from 1206 to 1210. He belonged to the Slave dynasty or Mamluk dynasty which was the first of the five dynasties of Delhi Sultanante and those five dynasties were not related to each other.
