The helobial type of endosperm development can be observed in the order helobiales of monocotyledons. In this, the first division is usually transverse, which results in the formation of 2 unequal cells- a large micropylar cell that divides further and a small chalazal cell. E.g:- Asphodelus, Eremerus.

Dicots show cellular (Petunia, Balsam, Datura) and nuclear (sunflower) type of endosperm development.
