Solution

Displacement reaction:

A displacement reaction is a chemical reaction in which a more reactive element can displace a less reactive element.

Preparation of Zinc sulfate:

Material used:

  • Zinc Zns
  • Dilute Sulfuric acid H2SO4aq

Preparation:

  • When Zinc Zns reacts with dilute Sulfuric acid H2SO4aq, Zinc sulfate ZnSO4aq forms along with the liberation of hydrogen gas H2g.
  • This is a displacement reaction.
  • The chemical reaction is as follows:

Zns+dil.H2SO4aqZnSO4aq+H2g
