Solution

Let us find the number of tiles required
Area of the living room = 520*300 = 156000 cm^2
It is given that we need to have sqauare tiles so let the side of a square be x
so it's area is x^2
x^2 = 156000
x=sqrt(156000) = 394.96 =395 (approx)
now for the first 100 tiles
cost= 100*64 = 6400
now for the next 100 tiles (100-200)
cost = 50*100 = 5000
remaining tiles 395-200 = 195
cost = 195*40 = 7800
Total cost= 6400+5000+7800 = 19200+
is the required solution
