Solution

Dear student,

Chromosomes could be defined as an organised structure of DNA and protein , found inside of the nucleus of a cell.
Genes are particular loci on those chromosomes , and these are responsible for particular traits of an individual.Genes carry the hereditary information in the form of DNA which are further transcribed and translated to form various proteins required by the cell.

Thus, the similarities could be stated as follows:
Genes are found on chromosomes and chromosomes are found inside the nucleus. Thus both are found inside the nucleus of a cell.
Both are made up of DNA.
Chromosomes occur in homologous pairs. The genes in the form of alleles are also found at the same locations in the two homologous chromosomes.
