Question

Give a basic difference between mRNA and tRNA.

Open in App
Solution

mRNA is a linear sequence of nucleotides which is transcribed from and complementary to a single strand of DNA and which carries the information for protein synthesis to the ribosomes. Whereas, tRNA is the smallest RNA molecule found in cells; its structure is complementary to mRNA and it functions by transferring amino acids from the free state to the polymeric form of growing polypeptide chains.
