Genetic engineering also called as genetic manipulation or genetic modification involves the technique of modifying any organism genes either by inserting a DNA of interest or removal of a DNA by which a novel organism is obtained. It involves transfer of genes across species or within species there by yielding genetically modified organism. If a gene of same species is added the resulting organism is called as cisgenic and gene of other species is added the resulting organism is called as transgenic.
