Test for Hydrogen gas and Hydrogen sulfide:

  • When a glass rod dipped in the Ammonia (NH3)solution is brought near the mouth of the test tube containing Hydrogen chloride gas, then dense white fumes are observed, whereas it is not seen in the case of Hydrogen sulfide.
  • The chemical reaction of Ammonia with Hydrochloric acid is as follows.
