Adaptative features of aquatic plants:

Floating plants:

  1. Plants like lotus do not have well developed roots.
  2. They have thin and flexible stem to that bending with water movement and pressure becomes easy.
  3. Leaves are large and circular so that the plant can easily float on water.

Submerged plants:

  1. Roots are firmly rooted in plants that are completely under water like Hydrilla.
  2. Leaves are long, thin but strong to resist water currents.
