Convergent evolution:

The type of evolution where organisms, present in the same environment, have evolved causing their structurally different body parts to have the same type of functions is called convergent evolution.

Analogous organs:



● Analogous organs are structurally different but perform similar functions.

● The wings of eagles, bats and butterflies are used for flying but structurally they are different.

● These different structures converge for the same function of flying leading to convergent evolution.
