Urinary bladder:

  1. It is a pear shaped (triangular), hollow, small storage sac that collects urine from both the ureters.
  2. It is a distensible organ that lies on the pelvic floor.
  3. In the urinary bladder, urine is stored temporarily till it is released into a muscular tube known as urethra.
  4. It collects urine from the ureters and releases it into ureters after temporary storage.
  5. Urine is thrown outside through urinary opening.
