Give examples to show that friction is a friend or a foe.

Friction can be both friend and foe:-

FRIEND:

1. It helps in construction of buildings.

2.It helps in walking on the ground.

3.We can not fix nail in the wood or wall if there is no friction. It is friction which holds the nail.

4.without friction we can not write because a pencil writes by the friction between its tip and paper .

5.It helps in construction of buildings.

FOE:

1. soles of shoe and tyres of vehicles wear out due to friction.

2.friction can also produce heat. so it can damage the machines.

3.friction produces heat,and thus energy gets waste.
4.it opposes the motion.
