About 70% of the earth's surface is covered by water.
The physical properties of water are:-
Water is colorless, odorless, and tasteless.
The boiling point of water is 100oC.
The boiling point of water increases due to the presence of dissolved impurities in it.
The freezing point of water is 0oC.
Water has an unusual physical property i.e anomalous expansion of water. When water gets cooled, it first contracts in volume, as do other liquids, but below 4oC, it starts expanding and continues to do so till the temperature reaches 0oC, the point at which it freezes into ice.
