Solution

Laboratory Preparation of oxygen

  • In the laboratory, Oxygen is prepared from the Hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) which is added drop by drop from a funnel to Manganese dioxide(MnO2), which is a catalyst in this reaction.
  • In the reaction, we get Water and Oxygen.
  • This method is used as it is a simple method and does not require energy to happen.

2H2O2(l)HydrogenperoxideMnO22H2O(l)Water+O2(g)Oxygen

  • Catalyst- A catalyst either increases or decreases the rate of chemical change but itself remains the same at the end of the reaction.
