  1. A virtual image is formed when light rays from an object, after reflection, appears to meet or intersect at one point.
  2. The light rays do not actually meet but appear to meet at a point when the rays are produced backward.
  3. They are not real.
  4. Thus they can not be obtained on a screen.
  5. The best example is the image produced by a plane mirror.
  6. You can see your virtual image behind the mirror.
  7. A virtual image will be always erect.

Thus, a virtual image cannot be obtained on a screen because the light rays do not meet actually.
