Reproduction in multicellular organisms:

Multicellular organisms have complex structural organisation wherein cells have specialised functions. Cells usually lose totipotency when they become specialised. Also, cell division increases the number of cells in an organism leading to the growth of the body. Hence, multicellular organisms have developed reproductive systems that help in gamete formation and gamete transfer.
