Give scientific reason.
(a) Milch animals are fed on ambon or silage.
(b) Horses are given horse gram as supplementary food.
(c) Pigs are fed rice husks and chaff and bone meal.
(d) A cattle shed is kept clean.
(a) Ambon and silage is a fermented mixture of oil−cake, grain meal and jaggery, which has high nutritive value. It increases the yield of milk and also makes it more nutritious. Hence, milch animals are fed Ambon and silage.
(b) Horse grams soaked in water contain high level of nutrients such as proteins. Horses are given horse gram as a supplementary food to increase their muscular strength as the horses are required to perform heavy physical work.
(c) Rice husks, chaff and bone meal are rich source of nutrients such as carbohydrates and proteins. This is given to pigs to increase the yield of meat and its nutritive value.
(d) A cattle−shed is kept clean to prevent cattle from various diseases and protect them from flies, fleas and gnats.
