Solution
Chambers of the heart:
The heart is a muscular pumping organ which supplies oxygenated blood to the various parts of the body.
There are four chambers of the heart namely the left auricle, right auricle, left ventricle and the right ventricle.
The upper two chambers are called the auricles and the lower two chambers are called the ventricles.
Reason for the left ventricle having a thicker wall than the right ventricle:
The main artery that supplies blood to the various tissues of the body arises from the left ventricle.
As the left ventricle is involved in pumping oxygenated blood to the tissues at distant sites of the body, they are thick walled as they need to pump blood at higher pressure into the aorta.
