The podocytes are the specialised cells with the foot like structures at the base of the Bowman's capsule. These cells provide spaces for the passage of the filtrate and formation of the glomerular filtrate. These pores allow only the solutes and smaller molecules to pass. The blood cells are prevented from flowing into the filtrate.
