Solution

Menstrual cycle:

  1. The uterus prepares itself every month to receive a fertilized egg. The lining of the uterus becomes thick and spongy to support the embryo.
  2. When fertilization had not taken place, this lining is not needed any longer. It breaks and comes out through the vagina as blood and mucus. This is called menstruation.
  3. This cycle takes around 28 days every month and is called the menstrual cycle.

Menopause:

  1. Menopause is the permanent stoppage of menstruation.
  2. It takes place at the age of 45 years to 50 years.
  3. It is the end of the reproductive life of a woman.
