  1. It is the phase of menstrual cycle.
  2. At this stage, a mature egg is released from the ovary of the female.
  3. This phase occurs when Graafian follicle ruptures and releases the secondary oocyte.
  4. The ruptured Graafian follicle forms the corpus luteum which secretes progesterone and estrogen hormones.
