Solution

Optic nerve:

  1. An optic nerve is a composition of millions of nerve fibers that is present at the back of an eye and makes a link directly to the brain.
  2. It is the second of the twelve cranial nerves that carry electrical impulses from the retina to the brain.
  3. When an image is formed at the retina, due to illumination, the light-sensitive cells get activated and produce electrical signals.
  4. These electrical signals are transferred to the brain by the optic nerves.
  5. The signals are then interpreted by the brain and after processing the information the object can be observed.
