Matter ---- Anything is that has a tendency to occupy space, has mass, and assume by a sensory organ is considered the matter

• there are five types of matter
• Solid — A substance that has fixed volume and fixed shape & size
• liquid — A substance that has fixed volume but no fixed shape & size
• Gas — A substance that has neither fixed volume nor fixed shape & size
• Plasma — It is made up of free electron
• Bose-Einstein condensates — Any substance gets - 273.15 ${}_{}{}^0\mathrm{C}$ then it reached that stage where its volume is almost zero

Characteristics of matter —

• Particles of matter are very tiny in size and can exist independently
• Particles have the tendency to attract each other
• Particles have some spaces between them
• Particles of matter move in randomization order
• The matter is composed of elements and compounds
