(i) Kingdom Monera
It includes unicellular organisms with basic and simple cell structure like bacteria.
They are mainly divided on the basis of their shape.
Examples: Bacillus anthracis, Streptococus cocci and Vibrio cholerae
(ii) Kingdom Portista
It contains all unicellular eukaryotes, which are primarily aquatic. Their cell body contains well-defined nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles.
Examples: Amoeba, Paramoecium and slime moulds
(iii) Kingdom Fungi
It includes heterotrophic organisms with great diversity in morphology and habitat.
They are mostly saprophytic. The body consists of long, slender and thread-like structures called hyphae.
Examples: Yeast, Penicillium and Rhizopus
(iv) Kingdom Plantae
It contains all eukaryotic and photosynthetic organisms. Chloroplasts and cellulosic cell wall are their specific features.
Examples: Spirogyra, Cycas and Mango
(v) Kingdom Animalia
It contains heterotrophic, eukaryotic and multicellular organisms. They directly or indirectly depend on plants for food.
Examples: Dog, birds and fishes
