Solution

Relation between the mass and the weight of a body:

  1. An object's mass is a measurement of its inertial property or the quantity of matter it contains.
  2. The weight of a thing is a measure of gravity's force on it, or the force required to support it.
  3. An object's downward acceleration is 9.8 ms-2 due to gravity's attraction to the earth.
  4. The relation between mass and weight of a body is given by the following equation:

W=mg

Where,

m = mass of object

g = acceleration due to gravity

W = weight of a body
