Bleeding: The oozing of plant sap out of the injured part of the plant is called bleeding. The sap primarily constitutes water besides manufactured sugars, several biological molecules and vital minerals.

Cause of bleeding:

  1. The basic cause of bleeding is a mechanical injury to the surface of the plants.
  2. The other reasons why a plant can bleed are bacterial infections and lack of nourishment in the soil.
