Respiration in plants differs from that in animals in three respect :
(i) All parts of a plant, like the root, stem, leaf perform respiration individually while in animals there are some lower animals which respire through body surface but higher animals have a respiratory system dedicated to respiration
(ii) There is a little transport of gases from one part of a plant to another, unlike in animals.
(iii) Plant respiration occurs at a slower rate than animal respiration.
