When the Dutch enacted forest laws in Java and restricted villagers' access to forests, Surontiko Samin could not remain silent. He began questioning state ownership of the forest. He, with the help of his followers including his son-in-law stared a movement to restrict the Dutch, who were taking root in Java. Three values which are reflected from Samin's challenge are:

(iii) National-integration
