Biotic components are the living components and divided into following categories:
Autotrophic components: These comprise of living organisms which convert light energy into chemical energy i.e. green plants or producers.
Heterotrophic components: These depend on the food synthesised by the autotrophs and utilize or decompose the complex materials synthesised by them. These include all animals (consumers and decomposers).
Hence, examples of biotic components are plants, animals, decomposers.
