Deliquescent substances are referred to known as those substances which absorbs moisture from the surrounding and dissolves themselves with the moisture or water to form a solution.
This process occurs only when the vapor pressure of the solution formed is lower than the partial pressure of the moisture (water vapor) in the air.
If the humidity in the air will be sufficiently high then all the water-soluble salts will be known as deliquescent substances.
Examples are sodium hydroxide, calcium chloride, potassium hydroxide, ammonium chloride , etc.
Hence, two examples of deliquescent substances are: sodium hydroxide, ammonium chloride.
