d. The following phenomenon provides a classical explanation of a scientific theory given by a certain scientist.

(i)Name and explain the said theory.

(ii)Give the name of the scientist who gave this theory.

i) The theory is natural selection. According to this theory, organisms reproduce at faster rate resulting in a fierce competition for food and space, creating a struggle for existence amongst the organisms.
Within a species there are considerable variation, and individuals who are better adapted to environment, are more likely to survive than others. This is called survival of the fittest. And the whole process is called Natural Selection.
ii) Charles Darwin proposed the theory of natural selection.
