Assertion: Fungal members are distributed throughout and sometimes are even found growing inside and outside other plants and animals.
Reason: They are able to grow in any habitat or on other organisms because they
have a wide variety of pigments such as chlorophyll, xanthophyll, carotenoids,
fucoxanthin and phycoerythrin.

Fungi are found growing in all kinds of habitats. They are distributed throughout and sometimes are even found growing inside and outside other plants and animals. They are achlorophyllous (without chlorophyll) and do not have any photosynthetic pigments. So, the assertion is correct but the reason is wrong.
