How are the separated DNA fragments finally isolated?

Solution

The DNA fragments are isolated by a process called as elution. In this process, the visible fragment of desired size ( clearly visible as an orange band under UV illumination) is cut out from Gel using scalpel or blade, after which various chemical procedures are followed to separate out the DNA band from the solidified gel.
