Solution

The correct option is A y2x2
Given,
C+O2CO2;ΔH=x kJ .....(i)

2CO+O22CO2;ΔH4=y kJ .....(ii)
Required equation is

C+12O2CO,ΔH1=?
On reversing equation (ii), we get

2CO22CO+O2;ΔH2=+y kJ ......(iii)

Dividing equation (iii) by 2 gives
CO2CO+12O2;ΔH3=+y2 kJ ......(iv)

On adding equation (i) and (iv), we get (required equation)

C+12O2CO;ΔH1=ΔH+ΔH3
=(x+y2)kJ
=y2x2kJ
