Given $a x + b y + c = 0.$
Also given that $y = \frac{(c x + d)}{b} .$
$Substituting this in a x + b y + c = 0,$
we get
$a x + [b \frac{(c x + d)}{b}] + c = 0.$

$S o, a x + c x + d + c = 0$
$\Rightarrow (a + c) x = - d - c$
$∴$ $x = \frac{(- d - c)}{(a + c)}$
