Graves' disease is caused due to
Hypersecretion of the thyroid gland
Hypersecretion of thyroxine (T4) secreted by thyroid gland causes Graves Disease. Hyposecretion of these hormones causes cretinism in children and muscular tetany in adults. Changes in hormone levels of adrenal gland can result in either high or low blood pressure as well as cause Cushing’s syndrome and Addison's disease.
