Thyroid gland:

  1. Thyroid gland is a bilobed structure present one on either side of the trachea.
  2. It produces a hormone called thyroxine which controls the basal metabolic rate or metabolism of the body.

Adrenal gland:

  1. The two small, brownish, flattened and triangular cup-like structures, located one on the top of each kidney is known as adrenal gland.
  2. Adrenal gland produces a hormone adrenaline which prepares the body to face an emergency situation, violent stress etc. It is also known as fight and flight hormone.
