Grave's disease is known as Exophthalmic goitre. It occurs in adults due to thyrotoxicosis. It occurs due to over secretion of thyroid hormone i.e. thyroxine due to increased secretion of TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone) from anterior pituitary. In exophthalmic goitre, protrusion of eyeballs occur due to deposition of excess fat behind the eyes. Hence, Grave's disease occurs due to hyperactivity of thyroid.
