Group the seeds given in figure (i) to (iii) according to their means of dispersion.
(a)Seed dispersed by wind.
(b)Seed dispersed by water
(c)Seed dispersed by an animal
The seeds and their means of dispersal are:
(a) Seed dispersed by wind - (i)The seed of maple (winged seed which are light in weight), (ii)seed of oak or madar (hairy outgrowth, which makes it lighter)
(b) Seed dispersed by water- These seeds have a sponge and buoyancy form which helps them to be dispersed by water to different places.
(c)Seed dispersed by animals- (iii) Seeds of Xanthium are spiny and have hooks on them. When these seeds get attached to the bodies of animals they are carried to far and distant places.
None of the seeds given in the figure above are dispersed by water.
