Hamid deposited 1/4 of his salary in a bank. Then he spent rs.3000 and found he is left with7/12 of his salary. Find his salary.

Total salary=x
deposited=x/4
spended=3000
remaining=7x/12
so,x=x/4+3000+7x/12
x=3x+36000+7x/12
12x=10x+36000
2x=36000
total salary=18000
