The general formula for the wavelength of light is

For Balmer series, the expression becomes,
1λ=R×22(122132)
1λ=4R(0.250.11)=0.56R
λ=1.8R......(1)
For laymen series
1λ=R×22(112122)
1λ=4R(10.25)=3R
λ=0.33R......(2)
