The correct option is B 10.336 m
We know that, atmospheric pressure in barometer is given by Po=ρgh where ρ is density of fluid.


For mercury, Po=13.6×103×10×0.76 ..........(1)
[ρ=13.6×103 kg/m3, h=0.76 m,]
For water, Po=1×103×10×h ....(2)
[ρ=1×103 kg/m3]

From equation (1) and (2),
13.6×103×10×0.76=1×103×10×h
h=10.336 m
Height of water will be, h=10.336 m
