Solution

The correct option is D Nostoc
Heterocyst is transparent thick walled empty cell which is present in intermittent position in filaments of blue green algae. They are the site of nitrogen fixation and hence carry the enzymatic machinery for the same. Blue green algae are prokaryotic photosynthetic Eubacteria. Riccia (bryophyte), Ulothrix (Algae), Albugo (Eumycota) are eukaryotes and none of them have ability to fix nitrogen. Nostoc is blue green algae which have characteristic peptidoglycan cell wall and heterocyst. Thus, the correct answer is option D.
